The re-dedication of the Stour Row War Memorial on Saturday 14th May

Following the closure and sale of the church in Stour Row, the war memorial previously sited in the church has been moved to Stour Row Village Hall. On Saturday 14th May a re-dedication service was held in the Village Hall with the Rev Richard presiding.

The ceremony was well-attended by Stour Row villagers and visitors, including some who are descendants and relatives of the men listed on the memorial. Also taking part in the service were representatives of the Royal British Legion.

Julian Panton gave a fascinating talk about the men who gave their lives for our freedom. Their involvement in the conflicts across the world, and the sacrifices they made, demonstrated the vast range and scale of tragedy of the two World Wars.

After the service a toast was raised to the men who had fallen.

Many thanks to all those involved in organising this special ceremony.
